The Training Section
provides a variety of training and consultative services
to ARB andCal/EPA staff. The Training Section is reponsible
for developing training policy; registering employees
in training programs and classes; maintaining a library
of self-instructional audio/video cassette tapes dealing
with numerous technical and management related topics;
maintaining and publishing the Training
Plan and Guide; assisting management
teams in the development of their annual training plans;
consulting with management to identify performance problems
and associated training needs; assisting employees in
the identification of appropriate courses; and, for preparing
Training Plans and reports. |

The custom multimedia presentation includes life safety information that is specific to Cal EPA , and the state of California. The objective of the presentation is to provide you with essential information to assist employees in the case of a crisis event. The presentation is organized in short modules 3 to 7 minutes in length. The password to access the presentation is 1234. |

Employee
Assistance Program Orientation
Employees and supervisors who have
not attended an orientation or those in need of a refresher
about the Employee Assistance Program benefits and services
are encouraged to attend one of these orientation sessions. No
ARB Training Request is required unless travel funds will be
expended, however, to enroll please contact Lori Lopez at

State Law requires State employees who drive on State business
to complete an approved defensive driver training class once
every fours years. The class is three and one-half hours
and consists of a videotape presentation and lecture. There is no cost for State participants. Please cancel promptly
with the ARB Enrollment Coordinator.The Department of General Services, Office of Risk and Insurance Management offers the same
classes as above at several off-site locations throughout the
State. Additional dates will be available as new schedules are
prepared.

State-owned or leased automobiles and passenger vans may be
used to provide commute transportation to state employees if
such use does not interfere with the prescribed use of the vehicles.
Vehicle operators for these commute vehicles are assigned by
the participating department and are required to participate
in the Department
of General Services Defensive Driver Training Program specifically
designed for this purpose.

University.
This web site contains a complete listing of accredited California
colleges and universities that currently offer on-line and technology-
mediated distance education courses. Catalogues are on-line
as well as enrollment and registration. Register on-line to
receive updates of available courses that match your interests.
You may even "test drive" one of six on-line classes
to see how Virtual University courses work. And, its a great
site for research resources. It links on-line libraries at 60
California colleges and universities!
