Comment | Dear Chair Nichols and Air Resource Board Members, Thank you for all of your hard work in the implementation of SB 375. I believe that by the appropriate enforcement of this law, we will see a significant reduction in greenhouse gases, better transportation choices and as a result, more sustainable communities. California has always led the way in emissions standards. Because we live in such a beautiful state, it has always been incumbent upon us to find new ways to ensure that this continues to be a great place to live. A California native, I've lived in communities where biking was a priority (Davis), in cities where public transportation provided easy and safe ways to get everywhere (San Francisco) and in cities where everyone spends their day on a freeway sucking in noxious gases (Los Angeles). Everyone agrees that a community which prioritizes public transportation, seeks to minimize traffic and smog, creates bike and pedestrian friendly walkways and builds affordable housing close to schools, jobs and shopping, are by far the best places to live. I urge you to take this opportunity to encourage Californians to continue innovating ways to make this the best state to live and pave the way for other states to follow. Please vote for ambitious greenhouse gas emission reduction targets and achievable community plans. The key to our future is progress. Thank you for your hard work and for the opportunity to comment. Sincerely, Angelique Little |
