The most important crisis facing our society is global warming. 
Climate change is already creating devastating problems in our
country and across the globe.  It will only get worse, if we do
nothing.  It makes sense for us to reduce the source of pollutants
that contribute to this process.  Setting a target for emissions is
the least we can do, and this will also have the effect of
improving our air.  We should also do this as a model for other
communities whose leaders are under the impression that scientific
evidence is not important.
