| Comment | I am writing to support the CARB proposed funding plan for air quality improvement. I am particularly writing to support the proposal for incentives for plug-in pickup trucks weighing 6,0-00-8,500 lbs. Pick-up trucks are the number one selling vehicle in the United States. For commercial fleets like utilities and telecom, a good percentage of their fleets are pick-up trucks. These fleets need emergency response capability during natural disasters and therefore would never opt for CNG or fully electric vehicles. Therefore, plug-in hybrids are the only alternative to diesel and gasoline and the only option to cut carbon emissions in this sector. I full heartedly support this proposal. |
