Comment | The Orangeline Development Authority has completed a preliminary study that indicates the potential feasibility of a privately-funded high-speed maglev system for moving cargo containers from the San Pedro Bay ports to an inland port in Palmdale. When planned in conjunction with the proposed Orangeline High Speed Maglev under development between Irvine and Palmdale, there are opportunities to achieve efficiencies that will enhance the value of both systems for moving passengers and freight and for reducing air pollution in the South Coast Air Basin.
