Subject | Good premise, Terrible execution |
Comment | To be fair, I do agree with one of the general premises of the proposal: that tire pressure should be checked when a vehicle is serviced at a service garage. However, to take any other actions, up to and including jail time for the vehicle owner, is ludicrous. Taking the opportunity to have tire pressure checked and remedied while the vehicle is being serviced is fair and equitable. However, it MUST stop there. Tire pressure should only be checked with cool tires, and temperature variations will dramatically affect pressure readings. Side-of-the-road checks would be a disaster, as any "violation" could easily be challenged on the grounds of temperature variance. Let's think about scaling this whole idea back to just checking and inflating tires when services are performed. That's it. That's all that is needed. That's all we will accept. |
