Subject | Proposed Tire Pressure Checking |
Comment | Please consider not adopting this new proposed rule. Auto Service Providers all check tires as part of their services. Most late model vehicles, and ALL vehicles from 2007 have a manditory system on their vehicle warning them of low tire pressure called TPMS or Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The vehicle owner needs to be responsible, not the Auto Repair Shop. This may sound self serving but it isnt. Making Tire Pressure checks manditory will not increase the number of tires being inflated to proper pressure because it is already being done now. Most vehicles are only serviced 1-2 times per year. A more effective way to get this done, is for a extra line put on your DMV renewal that makes your Auto Service Provider sign, or the consumer sign, stating they got their tires checked. No added cost to anyone. Please consider this easier proposal. Thank You and please call if you have questions. |
