Comment | This mandate, if put into play, is the wrong approach to a very real problem. We already check and document the tire pressures on every visit, and find most are 2 to 10 lbs low, however this bill will create a liability problem for every shop in the state who will be at the mercy of contingency lawyers. The real solution would be a mandatory vehicle inspection program that includes tire pressure, tire condition, check engine light, fluid leakage, smoking vehicle, wiper blade and lights inspections. This approach will allow the free enterprise system to work to solve a myriad of problems related to the environment and safety. By allowing business to charge for their service this will accomplish far more than simply mandating the solution to one problem. |
