I am the Director of the Permit Services Department at the San
Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and am happy to voice
support for the Local Government Toolkit.  

The Valley Air District is in frequent communication with over 60
local city and county governments in the San Joaquin Valley.  As
public interest in reducing greenhouse gases has grown, many of
these local governmental bodies have expressed to the District a
strong desire to quantify GHG inventories and implement GHG
reductions, but didn't know where to turn to get started on those
efforts.

The Local Government Toolkit provides exactly that type of
information and fills a very important role in providing agencies
with necessary information and resources.  I have shared
pre-release versions of the Local Government Toolkit with a few
local agencies and have received only positive feedback.  Based on
these responses, I beleive that the Local Govenrment Toolkit will
be of significant value to many agencies in the San Joaquin Valley,
and we strongly support its implementation and the equally
necessary ongoing updating and maintenance of the site.
