Subject | diesel truck rules |
Comment | Please give us all the gift of fresh air: regulate the emissions from all diesel busses and trucks in California. Most Californians live near highways and are exposed daily to the fine particulate emmisions from diesel vehicles which increase their risk of respiratory diseases. Truckers themselves are exposed to the hazardous diesel exhaust every day and would personally benefit from stringent exhaust controls. I live in a quiet residential neighborhood in Menlo Park, California. However, over the past three years several of the homes near my home have been torn down and replaced by large homes with full basements. Over these past three years, more than 1000 big rig diesel trucks have driven past my home hauling dirt, delivering building supplies and dropping off dirt moving equipment. On many days the air is thick with the smell of diesel exhaust. I have had to avoid outdoor activities on weekdays to avoid the diesel exhaust. Please enact the strongest possible regulations to eliminate diesel exhaust emissions! Our health depends on you. |
