PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER AMENDMENTS TO THE CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES FOR ALL AFTERMARKET PARTS AND CONVERSION SYSTEMS FOR OFF-ROAD VEHICLES, ENGINES, AND EQUIPMENT

A notice of public availability of modified text regarding amendments to the Certification Procedures for all Aftermarket Parts and Conversion Systems for Off-Road Vehicles, Engines, and Equipment was distributed for public comment on August 20, 1999 that specified the following dates:

Public Availability Date: August 16, 1999
Deadline for Public Comment: August 31, 1999

Because that notice was not distributed in time to provide the public fifteen days within which to submit written comments, the Air Resources Board is providing the public an additional fifteen day period to submit written comments regarding modifications to the proposed certification procedures for all aftermarket parts and conversion systems for off-road vehicles, engines, and equipment as set forth in: Article 7, sections 2470-2476, Title 13, California Code of Regulations ("CCR") and amendments to sections 2405 and 2425, Title 13, CCR. The modifications to the originally proposed procedures were provided in the prior notice of public availability of modified text or can be obtained by contacting Minal Khedia at (626) 350-6407.


In accordance with section 11346.8 of the Government Code, the Air Resources Board directed the Executive Officer to adopt Title 13, CCR sections 2470-2476, and to amend Title 13, CCR sections 2405 and 2425 as approved, after making the modified regulatory language available to the public for comment for a period of at least 15 days, provided that the Executive Officer shall consider such written comments as may be submitted during this period, shall make such modifications as may be appropriate in light of the comments received, and shall present the regulation to the Board for further consideration if he determines that this is warranted.


Written comments must be submitted to the Clerk of the Board, Air Resources Board, P.O. Box 2815, Sacramento, California 95812, no later than September 17, 1999, for consideration by the Executive Officer prior to final action. Only comments relating to the modifications described in this notice, will be considered by the Executive Officer.
