Subject | Above ground storage tank systems in National Forest |
Comment | We have a customer's site that is in the Sierra National Forest. The site was destroyed in the Creek Fire last year. The system did what it was supposed to do and did not explode. We are attempting to get them back into business. The problem is that we have to use the latest Executive Order VR501. Which has a Hirt Thermal Processor. Introducing a flame into a National Forest is not appropriate. With the winds that the sites in the mountains, there is a very big possibility of some debris getting into the flame and starting a forest fire. The sites in the back country on the Forest land sell very little fuel, this site is less than 3000 annually. This site is 50 miles away from the closest city with fuel sales. They have the fuel for boats primarily and as a service to their customers. With so little sales, is there any way of not using a Phase II vapor recovery system, especially one that uses a flame to function. |
