| Comment | To Whom it May Concern,
In regards to the potential regulations for small vessel emissions
compliance, I would like CARB to study and publish the results of
the pollution comparison between small fishing vessels and
container ships that enter California waterways and harbors. What
is the difference in amounts of pollution between these two
different industries? How can CARB regulate international shipping?
Will it? I does not make scientific and any rational sense to
regulate small vessels but not regulate the large container ships
when it comes to engine pollution. The effects of the proposed
regulations for small vessels to Californians who work on these
boats will be forced out of work, yet foreign shipping companies
who profit off Californians may continue to operate gross polluting
vessels. Its important to follow the science and make logical
regulations for a better future to protect the environment.
Shipping vessels pollute more than all the automobiles in
California yet there is no proposed regulations, only regulations
that will hurt the industries that pollute very little in
comparison. I urge you to please do more research and show the
public the facts.
