| Comment | Dear CARB,
We need bold and fundamental changes in land use to meet the
urgent challenges of Global Climate Change. I urge CARB to set a
substantially higher land use target--14 MMT CO2 equivalent, rather
than 5 metric tons (MMT).
Policies that California is already considering would make the
highter target achievable. Setting a bolder, more aggressive
target would demonstrate to the world that new land use policies
are critical in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
A higher target should be coupled with a commitment to provide
financial resources, technical assistance, and other support to
help regions, local governments, and transportation agencies
achieve the target.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Barbara Fukumoto
