| Comment | I wish to express my support for continued funding of CARB ZEV
incentive programs.
These programs have been effective at their mission, and need to
be continued now more than ever. We are at a cusp point in
history, and in danger of temporarily falling backward due to the
temporary "low" price of gasoline.
We've seen great progress in the last couple of years though, and
with a few key incentives in place, California can lead the nation
in successfully encouraging a cleaner, quieter, and more economical
vehicle experience. This is happening *now* not 5 or 10 years from
now. Fund now, push adoption rates over the edge into mainstream,
then let the state benefit from not just the cleaner air, but the
jobs and technology benefits, and resulting tax income, for what is
currently predominately a California led industry. If we wait, we
lose momentum. It will still happen, but California will benefit
less, and the public won't benefit as fast, nor (I suspect) as
much.
