| Comment | Dear Chair Nichols and Air Resource Board Members,
Thank you for all your hard work in the implementation of SB 375.
I believe that by the appropriate enforcement of this law, we can
see a reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission and more
sustainable communities and transportation choices.
As a person who values walkable and bikeable communities (for years
I chose to locate in a neighborhood where I would have to rent but
was walkable to public transportation and shopping, vs. buying in a
more affordable area where I would have had to drive everywhere -
this healthy lifestyle should be afforded to everybody - not just
the wealthy), accessible alternative transportation, and clean air,
I urge you to adopt only GHG emission reduction targets that are
ambitious and achievable. It would be a joy for me if I can spend
less time on the freeways, save money on gas (when I have to drive)
and have more time with my children. These things can be easily
achieved through compact community planning and affordable housing
close to work, school and community centers.
In your upcoming meeting, please vote for ambitious GHG emission
reduction targets and achievable sustainable community plans.
Thank you - sincerely,
Jennifer Borenstein
