| Comment | As a lifelong recreational sportfisherman, I am appalled that the
CARB would enforce or even propose regulations that would cripple
an entire industry. Most people who enjoy sportfishing have been
introduced to the sport through their parents or grandparents, this
is something that has been passed down from generation to
generation. To completely kill an entire industry, which is what
CARB's current proposal would effectively do, that is enjoyed by
generations of families together, is unconscionable.
Even with the current fuel prices and regulations, we can only
afford to go fishing once, maybe twice, per year. If the proposed
regulations go into effect, only the extremely wealthy would be
able to afford it. This is another example of well-to-do
politicians overregulating industries and creating an even greater
class divide that is already destroying our state and country.
