| Comment | The Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, representing
over a half of a million clinical practitioners in the US has
issued a call to action to policy makers and industry to recognize
climate change as the greatest threat to public health in this
century. A recent Harvard study shows that even a slight increase
in exposure to particulate air pollution correlates with a great
increase in mortality from COVID-19. I live in Contra Costa
County, which received an "F" in air quality in the most recent
American Lung Association State of the Air 2020 report.
I strongly urge the members or the CA Air Resources Board to adopt
policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution,
including the proposed Clean Trucks Regulation.
Respectfully,
Lisa F Chang, MD
