Oxides of nitrogen, or NO x , is a precursor to smog which can
cause or exacerbate numerous respiratory and other health ailments
and is also associated with premature death. All
combustion engines produce NO x and although technology has
advanced markedly through the decades, California must still do
more to reduce NO x emissions from mobile sources, especially
trucks.

As someone born and raised in the Central Valley, an area that has
been identified as having the worst air quality in the nation, we
must do all that we can to reduce air pollution. No more children
should be born with asthma and dependent on their inhaler just to
get by.
