| Comment | I wanted to send a clarification letter to my original letter. I strongly SUPPORT District 36's proposal to the red sticker program. My original letters intent was to support year round availability and riding of red sticker ohvs. I absolutely in no way support eliminating the availability of red sticker dirt bikes. Many manufactures, such as KTM and Husqvarna no longer offer green sticker dirt bikes in California. The only option is to buy motorcycles that are street legal. The problem with this option is the extremely high cost associated with these motorcycles. In the CARB proposal it is stated that the increase in cost per motorcycle is $333. I can tell you from purchasing bikes that that number is grossly low. The high cost associated with CARB's proposal would essentially eliminate the family friendly activity of OHVs. In our current world the absolute last thing we need is the loss of any activities that promote family, friends, and the outdoors. I urge you adopt District 36's recommendations and protect the activity we love. Sincerely, Nick Bittner |
