| Comment | Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am in favor of the new rule for emissions from In-Use
Off-Road Diesel Vehicles that is intended to reduce air pollution
from California's construction equipment. I have asthma, and I am
very sensitive to diesel engine exhaust. So, I would definitely
like to see diesel engine emissions more closely controlled by the
Air Resources Board.
I understand that scientists project that the new rule
will save thousands of lives annually, reduce public and private
expenditures for health care, help bring the Los
Angeles/Long Beach air basin and the San Joaquin Valley air basin
closer to compliance with federal air quality standards; and, when
fully implemented, prevent 48 tons per day of NOx and 5 tons per
day of particulate air pollution by about 2020.
Thank you for this opportunity to comment
