| Comment | Please support this rule. This is a critical rule to achieve our
State's GHG reduction milestones. These large vehicles are on the
road much more often that a typical car used by citizens. The
Truck emissions are particularly toxic due to the formation of
particulates and presents of carcinogens in the exhaust.
California has lead the world in the development of electric
vehicles. This has spawned the birth of Tesla and other smaller
companies. If California maintains its leadership position, it will
mean better Air Quality, lower GHG emissions, and more good-paying
jobs.
Those most harmed by the emissions are usually living in
disadvantaged communities near freeways and narrow streets. Also,
the air inversions in the central valley trap these pollutants and
expose entire communities to toxic air. Some of the worst air
quality in the world can be found in the central valley.
