Good evening,
I want to begin by thanking everyone for the progress that has been
done so far for the Advance Clean Truck Rule.
However, we need to implement stricter rules for the health and
well being of the communities.
My name is Belen Gutierrez and I live in Jurupa Valley California,
in a small community called Bell Town. All around our homes there
are warehouses and businesses that utilize trucks all day and every
day. I don't see children playing anymore. What I see now are
semi-trucks constantly passing by. My father has lived in this home
for 30 years and for the past 5 years he has struggled with lung
issues. The air had gotten so bad that the doctors recommended him
to spend less time outside the house. Right now with COVID 19,
these implications are worse for him. I urge you to consider the
lives of those who have been struggling with health issues because
of truck pollution and are now hit with COVID 19. There is
uncertainty with this virus, but you all can make the future more
certain for my father and other communities in regard to air
pollution. Please help reduce the risk of health complications and
death.
We need CARB to adjust zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales
percentages for class 7-8 trucks to start with 12% in 2024 and 80%
by 2034.

Thank you for your time.
