Hello, my name is Veronica Jauriqui. I grew up in Los Angeles
County near the 710 FWY and my family is very acquainted with the
poor air quality caused by trucks traveling to and from the Port of
Los Angeles. Many members of my family suffer from asthma and other
breathing problems that have been attributed to pollution. You have
an opportunity to make a real difference to communities (mostly of
color) that live along the corridor by passing the Advanced Clean
Trucks Regulation. I encourage you to do so. I sincerely hope you
do.

This is a time when we must acknowledge the ways that policy and
commerce have racist implications. Poorer communities along major
freeways bear the brunt of smog. Do the right thing and address the
environmental health hazards that plague our neighborhoods.
