I am a fisherman that has taught fishing by my father and I in turn
have taught my children and my grandchildren to fish. We have been
going on boats from various ports in California. The boats we go on
are open party boats. Either half or three-quarter day boats. The
price to go on these boats is affordable as long as we save up for
them. Requiring boat owners to upgrade their boats (without some
govt funding) will force boat owners out of business or force the
cost of boat upgrades on to fisherman like me. Raising prices of
boat tickets will result in fewer trips or eliminate this
recreational fishing opportunities for families like mine. If
upgrades are approved, at least funding for boat owners need to be
approved along with the upgrades.
