| Comment | I live in the Eagle Rock community of the City of Los Angeles. My
daughter has asthma, which we have observed gets worse when she is
exposed to car and truck exhaust. I urge the Californi Air
Resources Board to adopt the staff-recommended draft targets for
SCAG and other large regions.
I feel like there is a lot cities and counties can do to reduce
exhaust fumes and create more walkable, livable environments by
building more densely and affordably around transit and job centers
and providing more public transportation conecting them. While
local resources are scarce right now, there seems to be a lot of
interest from the federal government in investing in producing such
communities, especially in Southern California. If we do not
encourage local governments to seek funding to plan and create such
environments, we will cheat our region out of that funding.
I hope that ARB will work with local governments to secure funding
for effort that's so important for ourselves and our children.
