| Comment | Dear Boardmembers,
You have before you an opportunity to do good for millions of
people.
As you may know, exposure to smog can have serious effects on
respiratory health, and lead to hospital admissions and emergency
room visits. Particulate pollution is associated with heart
attacks, irregular heartbeat, asthma attacks, reduced lung
function and bronchitis.
These health impacts result in tens of thousands of premature
deaths in the U.S. from heart and lung disease annually, as well
as hospital admissions, emergency room visits, absences from
school or work.
This new rule will result in reduced health care and hospital
visits currently costing society $18 to $26 billion.
On May 24, please vote to reduce air pollution.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ken Faber
