Subject | Conflict with existing regulations |
Comment | DG equipment can be coupled with heat recovery equipment that is currently regulated for NOx emissions. An example would be a microtubine coupled with a packaged industrial or commercial size steam generator that is fired with a low emission burner. Since there is only one stack for such combined systems the total emissions from that single source would be the result of the DG and the burner for the steam generator. Under this situation, would the source be classified as a steam generator or a DG and which emission regulations would apply, the planned DG regulations or the existing boiler regulations? If the fuel burn rate in the DG is much smaller than the steam generator burn rate can the curretn steam generator regulations compensate for the added emissions from the DG. Thank you. |
