I own Sun Light & Power, one of the oldest solar installation
companies in the state.  I have been driving a ZEV for the past 8
years.  Aside from requiring virtually no maintenance, my RAV4EV
is 100% solar powered due to my recharging stations at both my
solar-powered business and my solar-powered home.  By using ZEV's
powered by photovoltaic power, I have been able to avoid about 25
tons of CO2 emissions over the past 8 years.

When I propose this same energy solution to my customers, they get
very excited, until they find out how hard it is to find a ZEV.  I
am convinced that there can be a huge market in California for
ZEV's, in spite of what the automakers say.  PLEASE don't make the
same mistakes that were made 5 years ago - we need a robust
electric car industry, we need to give the people of California
the opportunity to make a clean vehicle choice, and if CARB
doesn't make it happen, and leaves it up to the automomakers, it
may never happen.  CARB needs to establish an agressive goal for
electric cars, and it must not cave in to Detroit again.
