Dear Chairperson:

I have seen the DVD-Who Killed the Electric Car, and the part that
CARB, and GM played in that infamous action a few years ago. It is
well known that California leads the Nation in Green Technology,
and Electric Vehicles Developement, and what California does
certainly influences what other States, and the Federal Government
does.
It is critical that our vehicles move off of dependance on Foreign
Oil at the earliest opportunity, and towards renewable energy. The
very Financial Future of these United States depends on this
action. Here in the US Virgin islands we are paying over 34 cents
per KWH for Electricity, because we generate all of our power now
from Oil, and we are paying over $4.00 a gallon for regular gas on
St. Thomas, more on St. John. St. Croix pays less due to the
HESS/HOVENSA refinery on that island, but its oil stock comes from
Venezula, certainly no friend of the USA. With a median income of
about $26 K per year, our citiznes are being forced to choose
between food and electricity, and gas. Please DO NOT repeat the
2003 decision again..STAND UP to the Oil Companies, and GM
Pressure this time for the good of ALL AMERICANS. The very future
of our Union may well depend on your vote this coming week.
