I am writing to encourage the California Air Resources Board to
maintain a strong Zero Emissions Vehicle program. There is no
logic in continuing along a path of reliance on oil, known to be
destructive,  or beginning a push for ethanol which disrupts food
production and prices. There is precendence in the electric
vehicle. There is substantial scientific research, free from
political bias, that speaks to the need to set a new course that
limits carbon emissions and the resulting warming of the earth.
Our children's future depends on the decisions being made now.  We
must set standards that will steer us toward a sane energy policy,
not one based on outdated corporate interests, but human needs.
The electric vehicle will help in this direction. Please maintain
high standards so this program will flourish.
