I recently traded in my Saab for a Hybrid Camry, but would have
readily bought a plug-in hybrid instead, had one actually
existed... CARB must use its significant power to lead the nation
in requiring the auto industry to the right thing by building
zero-emissions vehicles and making them widely available
throughout the country. They've shown a stunning lack of ability
and creativity to do this on their own. If CARB doesn't use its
power to do these things, not only will our air quality continue
to degrade, but our addiction to oil will continue to bleed our
nation dry (both literally, through the senseless war in Iraq, and
figuratively, through the loss of treasure spent on the war and the
slow strangling of the economy by "petro-industrial" complex).
Please think outside the box and keep the interests of the
ordinary citizen in mind. Thank you.
