Dear CARB Board:

I’ve been driving a converted VW Rabbit BEV since 1993.  That’s
42,000 miles of reliable year-round transportation to work and
shopping.  The "fuel" is wind energy from the local utility.

When people see my car they ask who sells these?  I have to say
"no one".  They ask "if you can build one why can't Ford or GM?" 
My response is that the major auto manufacturers could build a
much better BEV, but they claim batteries aren’t good enough and
there is no market.  Yet my zero pollution, zero oil importing BEV
is driving around every day ....
   
I’ve been an electrical engineer in the energy field for 36 years,
and based on my experience can assure you that someday BEV will be
in extensive use throughout the world!  It’s going to happen with
or without CARB, but will happen much sooner with your guidance. 


Please do your part to encourage the emerging BEV industry, so
that society will be able to look back and commend CARB for
visionary leadership!
