Dear CARB,

I am very upset to learn that CARB is planning to roll back the
ZEV production requirements for automakers.  California and
America are ready for clean cars and the technology is ready.  I
strongly urge you to show the leadership and initiative necessary
to give California and America the clean air, and CO2 / fuel
savings urgently needed by maintaining the increasing ramp up to
the eventual 2018 ZEV goals.  I strongly believe that if the
ramp-up is not required, that 2018 will come and the 18% goal will
not be reached.

CARB must realize that there are many conspiring interests to
maintaining the gasoline-based status quo.  Manufacturers are not
listening to customer demands and are paralyzed by fear and
lethargy.  Initiatives like the ZEV requirement are critical to
forward movement in this direction.  We cannot wait for the
manufacturers to get their acts together.  I applaud CARB for
setting the ZEV goals and I urge you to maintain them and not
accept the proposed weakening amendments.
