Comment | To Whom This Concerns at CARB: In this time when the causes and effects of global warming are becoming all the more obvious, it seems all the more necessary that California remain a leader in turning things around. To water down standards for the production of ZEV's, as well as to limit the numbers produced makes no ethical or ecological sense. It would also send the wrong signal to the rest of the world. It would also be another indication that we're delusional about just what we're up against. We have to be able to look ourselves in the mirror (and our children in the eye) and say we've done all we can to lower carbon emissions. The current standards are a good start in this direction. If anything, ZEV standards should be strengthened, not weakened. It isn't a drastic thing to insist on these standards; it's a cowardly and weak thing to peel them back. |
