Dear Ms. Nichols.  It is my understanding that a vote is upcoming
on a regulation to weaken the requirement to force auto
manufacturers to provide 250000 ZEV's in California by 2014.  I am
writing to urge you to strengthen, not weaken this legislation.  I
am convinced that despite the weakening economic outlook and their
poor financial performance, the auto manufacturers can and will
respond to the leadership CARB, and the State of California will
provide.  As Canadians, we watch California closely as much that
you do is directly reflected in the policies of our various
Governments - particularly here in British Columbia.  This is an
opportunity for CARB to demonstrate leadership in California, and
to much of the rest of the world in a way that will improve the
lives of millions around the world.  Please do not weaken this
important legislation.
