| Comment | Each year for the past 7 we vacation in Indio for two months. This year, in particular, I was disappointed to see the growing number of huge SUV's around the Costcos, Ralphs, and WalMarts around Coachella Valley- with running board/ladders to climb up into them. The "in" vehicle now seems to be Black, Huge, tinted-windowed, 5+ litre V-8 engined -with vicious-looking 18 to 20" chrome wheels that could have come off Charleton Heston's war chariot in Ben Hur! It was like a bad dream to think that this "fashion" could prevail with gas prices over $3.60/gallon? Talk about over-consumption!!! I hope you won't be offended by comments from a visiting Canadian -and I'm not meaning to interfere - but let's get real! |
