I lived in Michigan until 3 years ago and for many years worked for
a Tier One automotive supplier's research and development facility.
And my husband worked in upper management for Chrysler. I know
first-hand the pressures the auto industry puts on those who are
trying to improve their products. Please do not submit to their
pressure and weaken the ZEV program which is a vital part of our
society's efforts to save our environment. I ask this of you for
me, for my children, and my sweet granddaughter. All of our lives
will be adversely affected if you weaken this program. The auto
industry will only do what's right when they are forced to do so.
Stand strong. Show that we in California are leaders in this field
and that we will do what is right for the citizens of our state,
our country, and our world. And then watch as other states follow
our example.
