I urge you to resist any weakening of the ZEV Program.  If anything
it needs to be strengthened and the industry needs to be pushed
toward long-overdue progress in making ZEVs and plug-in hybrids
available. 

Please do whatever you have the power to do to mandate and
incentivize plug-in hybrid technology with the longest on-board
electrical storage (eg 20 mile range per charge) as it has the
best hope of meeting the average user's real needs.  (If I could
buy one TODAY, I would, and I would only have to buy a tank of gas
every other month).  

Finally, please do NOT get suckered into diverting your energies
(and ours) further onto the "alternative" biofuels path, which
drives up food prices, accelerates forest destruction around the
world and does much less than the ZEV or plug-in hybrid path to
address emission issues.
