Here's a quick test you can try for yourself.  Go to a stop light
and stand at the sidewalk of a busy major street in any city. 
Stand there for 5 minutes and breathe in as the diesel trucks and
cars stop at the light.  Do you have a headache yet? How about
nausea?  Now imagine a fleet of Toyota Prius' rolling up and
stopping.  Your headache from the stench of pollutants is gone,
gone also is the noise pollution from all those idling engines. 
Californians almost made a big difference with our standards for
the electric car before the policy makers caved to big bucks
crybaby car industry and the whole country is worse for it. Let's
try it again and get off this denial track that is leading . . .
we'll it's too smoggy to see where it's going but I don't want to
go there.
