Dear Members of the Board: I strongly support the view that CAP AND TRADE program funding should be apportioned in such manner that a portion of 30% or so go toward funding clean fuel transit in California's cities. Transit that is powered by clean fuels is a proven way to reduce smog and green house gases but providing for CNG, LNG, hydrogen fuel buses and solar power for terminals and bus stops and to create the hydrogen for bus power are expensive for transit agencies to do on their own and federal transit grants will be reduced. So funding for this work from the CAP AND TRADE program will be a huge help. Thank you for your consideration of this important issue and best wishes, Michael E. Bailey. |
