On behalf of the California Invasive Plant Council (Cal-IPC), I am writing to propose the use of cap-and-trade auction proceeds for invasive plant management in California’s lands and waters. Invasive plant management can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while also realizing other environmental benefits. State funding for invasive plant management has been cut in recent years, and funding from auction proceeds would help renew these important programs. Please see our attached comments. Thank you. |
