CalRecycle has stated that they will be doing another landfill waste characterization in 2018 to determine progress to divert 50% of commercial organic wastes to implement AB 1826. CalRecycle on or after 2020 needs to determine if commercial organic waste has been reduce by 50%, and if it has not, CalRecycle will move the phased in collection down to 2 CYD of MSW after 2020. So CalRecycle plans to do the 2018 study, with a 2019 fact finding on progress prior to 2020.This plan should be expanded to include all organics including residential and industrial to address SB 1383 and be part of the AB 32 Scoping Plan update to 2030. |
