Release of the 2023 Mid-Year Data Update
The 2023 Mid-Year Data Update reports the cumulative progress of the California Climate Investments portfolio as of May 31, 2023, and serves to update the information in the 2023 Annual Report to the Legislature on California Climate Investments Using Cap and Trade Auction Proceeds. These key resources track progress on the status and outcomes of California Climate Investments, which are funded by Cap-and-Trade auction proceeds deposited into the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
Across California, 78 California Climate Investments programs administered by 22 state agencies are continuing to direct billions of dollars into the state’s transition to a low-carbon and more equitable future. From December 2022 through the end of May 2023, California Climate Investments programs implemented nearly $511 million, bringing the cumulative total to $9.8 billion. These dollars are delivering major economic, environmental, and public health benefits for Californians, including meaningful benefits to the most disadvantaged communities and low-income communities and households.
